I have always admired the colors, softness and flowy look of traditional saris worn by beautiful Indian women.  One day during a thrifting excursion with my sister, I found myself standing in front of a row of beautiful vintage saris lost in admiring the detail and designs that went into creating one of these textile beauties.  I began to itch with the want to make something with them!  Curtains maybe?  How about some totes?  I picked up more than a handful not knowing what to do with them, but knowing that I had to have them.  When we got home they were immediately washed and dried.  Upon closer inspection, to my disappointment more than half of the pieces were stained or had rips.  We salvaged what we could and re-created them into a new collection of scarves, giving the beautiful saris a second life.  Some of the new scarves are now listed at our shop, ElasIdeaDesigns and I am very excited to share with you more of the re-created pieces in the next few weeks.  -Marcela
